The Community Advisory Committee held a General Public Information Meeting at the Winchelsea Senior Citizens Centre on the 12 October 2011, to discuss the maintenance of the Winchelsea Cemetery, and to gather ideas from what the people from Winchelsea want of the Trust and their Cemetery. The topics that were discussed on the night were the existence of the White Crosses, pre-paid graves, updating the cemetery burial board, headstone sizes and the adding of a children’s section to the cemetery. A PowerPoint Presentation and proposed plans for the cemetery were presented on the night. The attendance on the night was very good with a total of 29 people including CAC Members, Trust Chairman L. Smith, Deputy Chairman I. MacDonald, Trust Member F. Freijah and Geelong Cemeteries Trust Management. The feedback from the meeting was very positive and the attendees were very appreciative of the works that have been completed by the Trust.
