| Australian Government Mobile Office coming to town |
|
The Mobile Office will be in Winchelsea, on Monday, 13 February, in the Council car park, Main Street, from 9:30am to 4pm. It will then travel to Birregurra, on Tuesday, 14 February, and pull up stumps near the Community Hall, Main Street, from 9.30am to 1pm. The Mobile Office will then visit the annual Sungold Field Days, opposite the Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory at Allansford, for the entire three day event from Wednesday, 15 February, to Friday, 17 February, from 9am to 5pm daily. The Australian Government Mobile Office travels Australia to provide a face-to-face service for people living in rural and remote communities, so they have easier access to Australian Government assistance and they don't have the inconvenience of travelling great distances. All residents, particularly seniors, families, students, farmers and agriculture-dependent small businesses, can access Mobile Office services. Staff can also assist with farmer and agriculturally-dependent small businesses drought assistance claims; non-cash Medicare Australia transactions, such as arranging cheque or EFTPOS claim payments; Medicare Australia enrolments and provide social work support and referrals. Mobile Office staff have all had prior experience across Centrelink's many business lines, so this means they can provide a greater level of service to their rural and remote customers. |

The Australian Government Mobile Office will be visiting Winchelsea, Birregurra, and the Allansford- Sungold Field Days at Warrnambool to provide rural and remote communities with better access to Australian Government services.
